A new SAT is coming! Here's what every student should know

The SAT is an 88-year old standardized aptitude test measuring one's reasoning and verbal abilities used for admission into most colleges in the United States. Although there have been many changes since the first version in 1926, the most recent edition was introduced in 2005, when the College Board decided to add a Writing Section to the test, change some question formats, and change the top score from 1600 to 2400. Starting in 2016, there will be a number of radical changes to the SAT that the College Board hopes will align more closely with actual classroom learning and move further away from "test-taking tricks."
