A rare form of cancer may have robbed Brigid McDonald's newborn of half her eyesight, but it did nothing to diminish her daughter's vision for a bright future. Indeed, a childhood of academic accomplishment, musical achievement and community service got her only child, Caeli, admitted to the University of Rochester, the college of her choice.
