Benefit Description

$250 payment to Union Plus Credit Card holders who have recently been on strike or locked out.

 

Requirements

  1. You must be a union member or have been a union member at the time of strike or lockout.
  2. You must be a Union Plus Credit Card holder for at least one year.
  3. Your account must be in good standing – in other words, your payments must be up-to-date.
  4. You were on strike or lockout for 30 or more consecutive days within the last six months.
 

How to apply

  1. Collect the following:

    • Letter from your local union acknowledging a union-sanctioned strike or a lockout lasting 30 days or more within the last 6 months.
  2. Complete the online application form

  3. Print the online application PDF, sign and mail all required documentation to:

    Union Privilege
    1100 1st Street, NE, Suite 850
    Washington, DC 20002

  4. Please allow 4-5 weeks for application processing.  You will notified by mail when your application has been approved or denied.
  5. If approved for the grant, payment will be made directly to your Union Plus Credit Card account. Please be sure to continue making your credit card minimum payments until your application is processed and the $250 grant posts to your account. To check your balance, you can call the Union Plus Credit Card at 1-800-622-2580 or check your account online at www.UnionPlusCard.com.

    Help if you don’t know your union

    Your union membership dictates which Union Plus benefits you are eligible to use.

    1. What your national union’s name (not just your local number)? Scroll through the list we have to see if you recognize your union.
    2. What type of work do you do (select your occupation)?
    3. Do you have a union member card or union publication/letter that shows the name of your union? Find something with the name of your union, not just a local number.
    4. Is there a shop steward or work colleague you can ask what the name of your union is? You can even ask your human resources department to tell you the full name of your union?
    5. Do you have a Union Plus Credit Card? If so, the name and logo for your international union should appear on the front of the card.
