New phishing scam targets wireless customers: Here’s how to stay safe

As fraudsters are continually finding new ways to take advantage of both carriers and customers, Union Plus and AT&T remain vigilant about protecting union members from communications fraud. Recent reports are being received from AT&T Wireless customers of receiving calls that play an automated message telling them to go to a website to redeem a service credit, such as a bill discount or a gift card. These fraudulent calls are part of a Fake Website Phishing Scam, and are being made to millions of mobile numbers, including consumers, businesses, and across wireless carriers.
