Easy Tequila Cocktails

If you don't feel like mixing up an elaborate drink but still want something delicious, these recipes are easy to pull off at home.

Cool, Crisp Margarita

The classic margarita is one of the best ways to enjoy tequila. This classic recipe, from Michael Messina at Labor 411, pairs perfectly with seven-layer dip or nachos. You can't go wrong with just four ingredients!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz. tequila (see union-made tequila brands above)
  • 1 1/2 oz. Montezuma Triple Sec
  • 1 to 1 1/4 oz. of lime juice
  • Salt for the rim of the glass (Colonial, Diamond Crystal, Monarch, Morton, Nifda, Red & White, Sterling, Sysco)

Directions

Shake all the ingredients with cracked ice in a cocktail shaker until the exterior frosts. Strain into a glass over rocks, or “up” into a cocktail glass. Garnish with lime wedge.

Tequila Sunrise

This is one of the most popular tequila drinks. Geoffrey Zakarian's recipe for a Tequila Sunrise is very easy to make. It has a pretty sunrise-like appearance and is perfect for the summertime.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz. tequila (see union-made tequila brands above)
  • 3/4 cup orange juice (Minute Maid, Tropicana products, Inc.)
  • 3/4 ounce grenadine syrup
  • Orange slice, for garnish
  • Maraschino cherry, for garnish

Directions

In a highball glass filled with ice, pour in the tequila and orange juice. Slowly pour the grenadine into the glass over the back of a spoon or by drizzling it down the side of the glass, allowing it to settle at the bottom. Garnish with an orange slice and maraschino cherry.

Strawberry Margarita

There are many variations of a frozen margarita, but this classic strawberry margarita recipe from Guy Fieri makes you feel like you're on a vacation. You can use whole strawberries for better texture.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups crushed ice
  • 1/2 cup strawberry puree, frozen can or fresh strawberries, pureed
  • 1 cup tequila (see union-made tequila brands above)
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • Splash of Triple Sec
  • Splash of simple syrup

Directions

Combine in a blender, ice, strawberry water, tequila, lime juice, Triple Sec and simple syrup. Puree until smooth. Pour into rocks glasses and serve.
