Union Plus Mourns the Sudden Passing of AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka
Union families lost a loyal and hardworking champion today with the sudden passing of AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka. President Trumka was a tireless and passionate fighter for workers and helped build the powerful movement we are part of today.
His passing is a tremendous loss for working families across the country and for the 12.5 million members of the AFL-CIO's 56 affiliated unions.
We are saddened at the loss of our long-time Board chair yet inspired to carry on his life's work to build a better future together. We will greatly miss President Trumka and send our condolences and sympathies to his entire family.
